Police warn about Pokemon!
Police
have warned children to leave their Pokemon trading cards
at home after two boys were allegedly robbed of their cards
at knifepoint.
Police
in Swindon, Wiltshire, UK, said they have charged two 13-year-old
boys with robbery over the incident. The 10-year-olds were
allegedly robbed of 200 pounds worth of cards they had been
intending to trade. Pokemon, the Japanese fantasy animal
combat cartoon, is a billion-pound merchandising phenomenon.
Short
for Pocket Monster, it began as a Nintendo video game in
Japan in 1996 and has since ballooned into a children's
must-have with spin-off feature films, books, comics, toys
and clothing. Some schools have banned the cards following
incidents of bullying in the school yard.
The
message is clear - play hard, but play nice.
